On Saturday we found a great deal on some crepe myrtles we wanted to plant in our back yard. So, we bought 4 of them and planted them on Sunday afternoon. Ethan had a great time at the nursery, filling the pots with rocks and an even better time on Sunday "helping" daddy plant the trees. Here are a few pictures from our afternoon.

Ethan loves to pick up brooms, rakes, hoes and any other tool that is way too big for him.

Yes, he's following in Auntie Kara's footsteps and had to sample some of the dirt...he actually licked his lips instead of spitting it out!

This is an official notice that Ethan's Nanna also ate dirt as a child. I think Kara and I both turned out OK---maybe that is why he loves his Nanna so much.
Kevin has such great choice in safety gear for work. It looks like he wasn't the one acctually doing the work, but just made a nice pose for the picture. I am willing to bet that Ethan dug that hole and is getting his thunder stollen. Ethan is growing up fast and I did not know that he could pick up rakes...or hoes for that matter. He is a ladykiller (unlike his father).
Yes, I was also going to mention something about Kevin's choice of footwear to do the yard work. Where's the knee high rubber boots? I love the pics of Ethan especially at the pumkin patch. I am sure he bought all the pumkin's he bruised from throwing on the ground!
Hahaha - I was totally going to mention Kev's footwear too! Bahahah! That's so funny we were all thinking the same thing...why does Kev always seem to do serious jobs in cut offs and flip flops? lol I love it! I love you, Kev! King of comfort.
Yeah, yeah...Ethan. Workin' man. Kev and Lynds should just hire him. It would probably be done in a weekend! I can just see Kev yelling through the screen door from the kitchen with a beer in hand, "That's good, son. It looks good! We didn't really want a waterfall back there but we'll just leave it since you put it in!"
Funny thing. A couple of years ago I was watching as a toddler friend of the fam was sitting on the sidewalk and proceeded to eat some dirt off the sidewalk. I was like, 'Why do parents let their kids do that?! Don't they know what is IN dirt?'
My mom quickly responded, "You used to eat dirt."
"What?!" I exclaimed.
"Yeah, we thought it was funny and cute."
So I guess it happens to the best of us....and we don't die. Eat away kid! It's funny and cute! (I love that he licked his lips p.s. - that is pretty cute)
Love the Pumpkin pic of you two as well!

p.s. - Also love the shameless slaying of Kevin by John. Hahaha
p.s.s. - Thanks for the suggestion for the blog. Maybe. My life seems pretty boring. Class mostly but I do some fun stuff every now and again. All you married folks can live the single life vicariously through me and vice versa with the married / kids life. It seems like I am already writing a ton the way it is though. Oh well. More distractions are always welcomed!
Can't wait to see you all next week!
