Our reality this summer is that camping would be less than enjoyable with all four kiddos. So we decided to do an evening of "camping" in our backyard.
We started off with some yummy watermelon (which we have been thoroughly enjoying all summer, especially since it is delivered right to our doorstep!), bbq burgers, fresh green beans and smores.
Kevin set the tent up and we let the kids run wild in there for an hour or so. Then Kevin, Ethan and Morgan spent the night in the tent.
Mommy in her own bed, no dirt, and breakfast in the house in the morning made for a pretty spectacular camping trip this year. We did miss the wilderness and hiking though, so hopefully we'll make it out there next summer.

We did the same thing. You tend to know your limits with 4 kids, right? For our sanity, the backyard was great and the kids still loved it. Next summer might still be too soon for us, but we will wait and see.
