I wanted to have a post that is Ethan free, to prove that we do, every once in a while, get out and have some fun without our little guy. Kevin received tickets to the Stockton Thunder for Christmas from one of his students. The Stockton Thunder is the Junior hockey team in Stockton. They are actually a farm team for the Edmonton Oilers, Kevin's favorite team. So last Saturday my parents watched Ethan and we went out to dinner, to a fabulous Chinese restaurant and then headed over to the game. Our friends Keith and Karrie also got tickets, Keith teaches 6th grade with Kevin. We were in the fifth row, between the blue line and the goal, they were great seats! It was also nice to have Karrie there to talk some non-hockey every now and then:) It was tons of fun though and made me remember all the Sharks games we got to go to when we lived in San Jose.
I forgot my camera, but I wanted some pictures of the evening so we took a couple with Kevin's camera phone. Not the best quality, but you get the idea.

It was teddy bear night, so when the Thunder finally scored their first goal the fans threw hundreds of teddy bears on the ice and they collected them and will give them away to a children's foundation, I can't remember what it is called. Since we were near the front we had a lot of bears fall by us so we got to throw them onto the ice. They had 4 or 5 pickup trucks on the ice and the beds were completely filled with bears. It was a success!

Teddy bears at a hockey game??? I am more interested if there were any fights and/or blood. Sounds like a goot time and great seats. Oilers are awesome.
John...actually the Oilers suck, stop kissing up to the Eskimo.
I would agree about the teddy's though. What the...? I GUESS its cool for the kids. What ever happened to throwing cool stuff on the ice like raw fish, octopus (octopi?) and HATS for "Hat Tricks"? I still haven't had the opportunity to do that! Still, just throwing something, anything on the ice is awesome. Did you guys bring a teddy bear to throw (or just steal one for Ethan?) Hahaha Where did this attitude this morning come from?! Gotta get out and run or something...
I hope you didn't write a non-Eth post because of me. I feel bad. He's cool. You can write about him. (just not about him carrying shopping bags)
I just heard Kevin say, "Amen."
That hockey game was cool. I'm not a hockey fan, but I can see the fun of getting season tickets and heading out often to see fast pace and high energy (tax rebate checks anybody?) I did get to high-five the drunk guy in front of me when the Thunder scored once--Kevin and I were split with the girls in between us, talking about who knows what, well, maybe it was about Ethan--there goes your non-Ethan post, Lyndsay! Oh well. Thanks James for the tickets!
