Trip to Edmonton

We have been back from Edmonton now for a few days and I'm finally caught up with everything else, so I figured it was time to get caught up on the Blog. Now that I know I have many faithful readers up north, I'll try to make this a good post.

We were able to spend 9 days up in Edmonton visiting Kevin's family. Our main reason for heading up there was to celebrate his brother Ryan's wedding. He married a great girl named Jessica. The festivities leading up to it and the wedding itself were all great. It was fun to meet some of their friends and to see all of Kevin's extended family again. We just don't get to see them enough since we live so far away. I think I'll fill you in on some of our activities through the pictures.

Ryan recently bought a quad which he keeps at Kevin's parents' place. I think Kevin took it for a ride every day, and he usually had a little passenger with him. Ethan loved going "FAST".

Ethan and "Uncle Rynan" on the Quad.

Ethan loved helping daddy and Opa build a fire a few nights. It was nice to have a fire to keep us warm and scare off the mosquitoes.

Opapa and Omama (Kevin's Opa and Oma) came to visit the second evening we were there.

One afternoon Kevin, Ethan and I headed out for a walk near a small forest. Unfortunately the trees were full of mosquitoes, so we spent more time out on this grassy hill. It was a beautiful afternoon!

It's wedding day! The wedding was at 1:00, followed by a couple hours for pictures and then a dinner and dance reception. The ceremony was beautiful. The reception was a lot of fun. Ethan had a great time at the "party." He even partied until 11:30pm! Kevin and I had a great time catching up with all his family and old friends.

The boys looking so handsome in their suits and "cool guys." (Ethan's word for sunglasses)

Ethan loved his "nice" clothes and shoes.

Ethan got a little goofy while he was taking pictures with Opa and Oma. I think we got one that turned out pretty good.

The happy couple just arriving in the limo at the reception.

Ethan got to chill in the limo for a while too. He's checkin' it all out.

See ya guys later, I'm off! Ethan loved that quad, almost as much as daddy I think. This picture was taken in the evening, sometime around 8:00. It is amazing how much daylight they have in Edmonton right now. It was finally dark around 11:15 pm and it was beginning to get light again around 4:15 am. It is pretty crazy. It was sure nice to be outside in the light for so long. We had lots of fun each evening.

Monday night we were able to visit with Frank and Denise, some college friends. They have 2 kids, Anika and Rhys. Here Ethan and Rhys are boxing on their Wii.

Our last day there were able to visit with Kevin's Oma. She loved playing with Ethan. We also spent some time with his other Opa and Oma, but I didn't get a picture of that. Sorry Opa and Oma!

We had such a great time. It was hard for Ethan to leave his Opa and Oma and all that land he could run around in. Thankfully we already have a visit from Opa and Oma on the calendar!

Once we were through customs at the airport, Ethan decided this phone booth was a great place to have his snack.

What great pictures of your trip to Edmonton. It looks likes you had a wonderful time. We will have to chat soon.
p.s. There is no doubt that Kevin is Ethan's dad. Those pictures prove that Ethan is a spitting image of his old man.
