Pebble Beach

Last week we had the privilege of spending time at my parents house in Pebble Beach. We headed up late Tuesday afternoon and came home Saturday afternoon. It was so great to be out of the heat of the Central Valley and enjoying the cool 60's of the coast. We had gorgeous sunshine 2 of the 4 days so it felt like a perfect getaway.

We enjoyed 2 days of just our family and late Thursday afternoon our friends Dave and Janie joined us with their 3 kids. It was so great to spend a couple days with them. Usually our time together is in 3-4 hour chunks, so we felt spoiled. It was fun to watch Ethan play with their kids, as he actually had time to warm up to them. He loved his friends.

Here are some pictures of our time there. We really didn't go anywhere except the beach. Kevin and Dave did golf on Friday morning and Janie and I got out for a fabulous 2 hour walk on the ocean.

Jumping off the rocks to daddy. Ethan loves to jump off everything, and getting to climb up the rocks made it even better.

He also loves crashing sandcastles...

...and burying his feet.

Walking with mommy.

Another favorite past time of Ethan's (thanks to daddy:) is tackling. He loves to tackle anyone and anything. Fortunately, I can opt out of most tackling now because of the baby...what will be my excuse in a few months?

Daddy made a police car out of sand for Ethan...it was later tackled.

Checking out the crabs in the tide pools. The kids had a great time throwing rocks and picking up the little crabs that were hanging out.

Anna, Megan, Carter and Ethan.

It was a beautiful calm night, hardly a breeze and the lighting was perfect for some pictures so we took advantage of it.

Megan, Dave, Anna, Janie and Carter.

Ring a round a rosie, pocket full of posies.

Ashes, ashes we all fall down!
(or as Ethan says "pocket rosies, ashes, fall down")

It brought such joy to me to watch Ethan playing with the kids. He has a "phobia" of other children, that was not present these few days and it was so fun to watch him interact, copy, play and laugh with Carter, Anna and Megan.

** Just a couple "artistic shots" that I thought turned out pretty cool.**
