As seems to be the tradition around here, Ethan celebrated his birthday 3 times. What a lucky guy!
First celebration was a week before his birthday when Oma was out for a visit. We were treated to a yummy ice cream cake and Ethan got to go to Toys R Us to pick out his presents. Thanks Oma!
The morning of Ethan's birthday we had his presents waiting and some balloons. This all happened at about 6:30 that morning:)
Nerf Guns!! I'm not sure who was more excited about these, Ethan or Daddy. We even had to buy 2 so that they can each have one.
Ethan requested a golf cake again this year since for his party he took some buddies putt putt golfing. He wanted 5 holes, but I could only fit 3.
(these pics are a little out of order) On the Saturday after Ethan's birthday we had a family party at my parent's house. H and B LOVED just chillin' in the pool. I think they floated like this for about 30 minutes.
Lookin' happy, just before Hudson had a "I'm hungry, feed me now" meltdown. (he seems to be good at those these days).
Hudsers and Papa.
Me and most of the kiddos. All the other adults conveniently sat across the yard. Except Kara, she helped me feed this hungry mob.
Birthday Boy received the last thing on his list, a remote control car. Thanks Papa and Nana! He also got admission to a discovery museum in Sausalito from Uncle Eric and Auntie Kara, we can't wait to go there!
Back to his birthday party with his friends. Kevin picked up 3 of Ethan's friends and they went Putt Putt golfing. Kevin didn't even think they would last 9 holes, but they got 2 rounds of 18 in in about an hour. Kevin said they all did great. Here's Ethan blowing out FIVE candles.
After golfing the boys came back to our house for pizza and cake. Morgan was so excited to eat with the boys. She was feeling very left out that morning and can't WAIT for her party!
This will be a great one to pull out when these guys are in high school.
Of course the only way to get a nice smiling picture is to promise a goofy one afterwards:)
It was fun to play some organized games with the boys. We played "Put the Ball in the Hole" instead of Pin the Tale on the Donkey. We also played Hot Potato.
All in all I think turning 5 was a success for Ethan. Now we're on to soccer and the first day of Kindergarten. Stay posted!

Lyndsay,
What a great post and such sweet pictures of your kids. I LOVE the new pic on the top of your blog. And your commentary of the one with you feeding all the kids cracked me up! Super mom! Will have to catch up soon. Love, Brenda
