Peek-a-boo

Morgan turns six months today. It is hard to believe. I'm not sure where the past 6 months have gone. She is becoming more and more social. She is starting to protest when we leave the room and kicks and smiles when she know she is getting picked up. We are taking a break from the cereal thing....she just isn't quite ready and I was getting frustrated. We'll try again in a week or two. She is getting up once at night. Hopefully that will fade out soon. The video shows her newest trick. We are practicing sitting up alone, but she's not quite there yet. I'm going to take some of my own 6 month pictures tomorrow, so I'll post those soon.

Best Friends

Today on the way home from the Library Ethan said:

"Morgan is my best friend in the whole world, Mama."

It just warms my heart that he said that and that he loves his little sister so much. I know that they are siblings so they will have their moments, but I pray that their love will remain as they grow up together. He just can't wait for Morgan to really play with him. She already thinks he is funny and will give him more smiles than the rest of us.

Heard around the house

Ethan sure has a way with words and I wish I would have started writing down some of the things he says a lot earlier. Here are a few cute things he's said the last couple days.

Sometimes when he needs help with something he'll say, "Mom, we have a problem here."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Today when Ethan was running and "tackling"(aka falling on the floor) with the foot ball he said, "Ow, I hurt my leg."
He got up a few minutes later and said, "Don't worry, it's still working"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
There are still a few people around our house who still have their Christmas lights up. When we drive by at night Ethan will say, in a very loud, almost yelling voice.

"Take your lights down people. Christmas is over!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Speaking of Christmas being over. Every once in a while Ethan will say that he misses Christmas. The first couple times we told him that its a bummer Christmas is over, but we can be happy that Jesus came.
Now our conversations go kind of like this:
E: Where is Christmas.
M: It's not Christmastime anymore buddy.
E: But why?
M: Because its February and Christmas is in December.
E: Oh, but Jesus was born, we don't have to be sad about it.
First Solid Food
This morning I fed Morgan her first bites of rice cereal. It was hard to tell how much she actually ate, but she seemed to really like it. I just had to keep her hands out of her mouth. I'm hoping some extra food will help her sleep a little better at night. Mama's ready for some more sleep!
Our baby girl
Seeing pictures of my little niece makes me realize how fast time goes and how big Morgan is already. Where has 5 1/2 months gone?? Here are a few pictures I took of Morgan today. Her new skill is blowing bubbles until she has a bubble "beard" as Ethan called it.
Here is Morgan's 24 week picture. She is getting quite the personality. She can now roll from her back to her tummy. She can do tummy to back too, but often gets stuck and mad, so we usually roll her back over. She is quite the drama queen when it comes time to eat. When she is hungry she really cries and then once her tummy is full she looks up at me and smiles.
Jam Session
I hope it's not overkill with the videos, but here is another video of Ethan singing. This time he and daddy are playing Every Move I Make with their guitars. Ethan is using the guitar hero guitar and takes his playing very seriously. Listen closely to what he says right at the beginning of the video. Morgan was in the middle of all the playing and she looks a little overwhelmed at the end:) Enjoy!
Pics of the kids
Unfortunately the kids have been under the weather most of January. So we don't have any exciting adventures to report on as of late. But I know most of you check this for pictures of the kids anyways, so here are a few taken around the house lately. Even though we need the rain, I have been thankful for the sunshine so we can at least get out of the house for a little while each day.
Kevin had Martin Luther King Jr. day off so we headed out to a local park for a picnic and some tree climbing.
Here is the picture I submitted for Regis and Kelly's beautiful baby contest. I'll let you know if he's a finalist:) Only several thousand other moms think their kid is the cutest too.
Playing play dough with daddy. Ethan likes to make "bumpy roads" out of the play dough and then drive his cars on it.
Unfortunately, Morgan seems to have inherited her mommy's lungs too. We are all to familiar with the nebulizer in our house.
Morgan giving her best "I'm checkin' you out" stare.
A little guitar hero in the morning.
Cuddling in daddy and mommy's bed and on the couch. I pray these two always love eachother this much!
