Hockey Night

Morgan LOVES to play in our closet and wear my shoes, mess up my basket of stationary and occassionally pull my clothes off the hangers. This night it was Daddy's turn and she found his old Dordt hockey jersey. Of course Ethan didn't want to be left out so he's sporting the Team Canada jersey.

This picture was taken after I left for my Pampered Chef party, Kevin assures me that is a smile on Ethan's face.....

And one more just because it's kinda cute. It shows Morgan's wild hair and Ethan's big scrape on his chin. He fell while riding Uncle Eric's skate board. Never a dull moment in our house:)

Happy Mother's Day and Pigtails

I thought I would share a few pictures we took on Mother's Day. I realize that was 2 weeks ago, but I forgot I had these pictures on my camera.
Kevin's parents came down for the weekend. It was nice to have them here again and fun to be able to celebrate Mother's Day with Kevin's Mom, I don't think we've ever done that before. We of course were all spoiled. The kids got lots of playtime with Opa and Oma and Mommy and Daddy got a lot of freetime! It worked out well for everyone:)

Morgan's hair is finally long enough to put pigtails in. Mommy is having lots of fun with that! And Morgan usually sits pretty still. I've been surprised. I usually do half pigtails, but the other day I actually got all of her hair up into two pigtails. Having a girl is so much fun!

In baby news, I'm not sure if I ever posted on the blog the sex of our babies. We'll be keeping things equal in the Schenk household. One more boy and one more girl! They are growing great and at about the same rate, which the Drs. are excited about. I am about as "big" as I was a few weeks before I had Morgan, so I'm wondering exactly how large I will actually be when these babies decide to join us. We're praying they stay put until 38 weeks! (which would be the first week of school....Kevin is thrilled with the timing;)

Randomness

Little Miss Mo wearing Daddy's beanie around the house.
More fun with empty boxes!
Morgan and Daddy relaxing after a tough day.
Ethan riding his new 2 wheeled scooter. It was our $5 deal at a garage sale. He is doing great and "loves his 2 wheeled scooter."
Here I am 21 weeks pregnant with the twins. I've still got a LONG way to go!

Just pics

One afternoon Ethan was upset at me before naptime. When I went back in to check on him I found him sound asleep in his hamper. Yes, he is actually sleeping and he slept like this for an hour!

Playing with the water table with cousin Annika. We can't wait for more warm days like this!

We got new carpet over spring break so we had to move everything out of our house. We decided while we were moving back in that we would set up Ethan's bunk bed. He has been sleeping on the top bunk and doing great! Now to move Morgan in there in a couple months....that should be interesting!

Be sure to check out all 3 posts I did tonight. It was time for catch up!

Spring Break-Fun with Friends

Kevin had couple days before Easter and the whole week after off of school. We tried to pack a lot of different stuff in during his time off-some fun stuff and a pretty lengthy honey-do list:)

We were able to head over to San Jose for a night to visit with our good friends there. It had been way too long since we connected face-to-face. It was treasured time and went by way too fast!

The first picture is of our kids with the Sacks' kids-Carter, Ethan, Morgan, Anna and Megan. When we moved away from San Jose their kiddos were Morgan's age and now they are 6! Time goes by too fast.

Here the kids are with the Hayes' kiddos-Ben, James, Morgan, Ethan and Marea. So fun to watch our kids run around and have fun together. We sure wish we could do more with them!

On the Monday after Easter we headed up to the Mountains to spend some time in a cabin that was a gift to Kevin and his co-worker and friend Keith from a family at school. We were expecting rain....not all the snow we saw on our way up. When we got to the cabin there was 3 feet of snow on the ground and no electricity in the cabin. After about 3 hours of wondering what we were doing in this freezing cold cabin on spring break, the electricity and heat finally started to kick in and we had a good evening. We actually only ended up staying one night since we just weren't prepared for the snow. The Terpsma's stayed though since they were a little smarter than us and their boys were having a blast. It was fun for the time we were there though and good to make memories together.

Caleb reading to the other kids.

On Tuesday we headed to Calavaras Big Trees Park. We were able to find a shoveled road to walk on for a while. It was a beautiful sunny day, which meant the snow on the top of the trees was melting. Morgan was not a fan of the snow falling on her head. She spent a good chunk of time there crying....

Here she is a happy girl for a while. Can you believe I even forgot to bring a hat for her?? Thankfully Eli shared his.

We were able to find a pair of boots at the cabin small enough for Ethan to wear...even if they were pink, they kept his feet dry. He enjoyed the hike but was not a fan of the sledding.

Kevin and Ethan on the top of a HUGE tree trunk. It was a fun 24 hours, but definitely not what we had in mind for SPRING break. Next time we'll be better prepared!

Happy Easter....a week late!

Here we are a week later finally posting pictures of our Easter activities. Ethan loved learning about the Easter story with his Resurrection Eggs. He also loved the Easter egg hunt. Here are few pictures our fun times!
Coloring eggs for the first time. They turned out ok, I'm not sure we'll do it next year, none of us eat hard boiled eggs so it felt like kind of a waste, but it was fun to do!

We had several friends over again this year for lunch and and Easter Egg hunt. It was a lot of fun to watch all our little ones play together. They really got the hang of it more this year now that they are all a year older. Here are pictures of our fun last year.

Morgan had fun finding a couple eggs and then opening them to eat the candy:)

Ethan was an old pro and after the hunt was over he and a couple of the other boys went looking for more that were really hidden well. They found about 5 more that everyone else missed.

The whole gang!

A Quick Trip

A couple weekends ago we were able to take a quick trip to Monterey. Here are a few pictures of our day and a half there.
We went to the aquarium on Saturday morning. As I've mentioned before the beauty of having season passes is that we can stay for as long or as short as we wish. We also don't feel bad when the kids just want to play on the toys in the kid section more than look at fish. They had a great time on the rocking fish and the slide. It was so fun to watch them playing nice together.

Taking a snack break outside.
I love this picture, Ethan is finally just tall enough to see over the wall to look at the ocean below. This morning we were watching a big group of kyakers.

At the ocean after dinner, doing what else, but throwing rocks. Morgan has quickly picked up on her brothers favorite beach activity.

While we were driving to Monterey we decided to give John and Brenda a call to see if they wanted to join us for the night. They accepted and we of course had a fabulous time. After we had been home for a few days Ethan asked when we would see John and Brenda again because "They are my best friends." He has a blast with them. Of course the extra attention helps too:)

The evening was perfect, no wind, setting sun. A great chance to take some pictures.

Another highlight that evening was looking in the tide pools with John the found a lot of sea urchins Saturday night and 3 starfish Sunday morning. So fun!
Again, we are spoiled to have such a great place to go every once in a while to just get away. Thanks Dad and Mom!
